Family Bank Posts Strong 2025 Results, Reaffirms Mission to Transform Lives Through Finance.

Nairobi - August 19, 2025

Family Bank has released its financial results for 2025 today at Serena hotel in Nairobi, reaffirming its vision to be a leading financial institution driving positive transformation in Africa despite operating in a challenging macroeconomic environment.

Speaking during the announcement, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Nancy Njau emphasized that the Bank’s purpose remains unchanged: “We had a vision that still guides us today, to be the financial institution that leads in the positive transformation of people’s lives in Africa. Our purpose is to enable people, create and sustain wealth through access to flexible, affordable financial services.”

Njau noted that Family Bank’s mission continues to revolve around putting customers first and building innovative, efficient, and reputable practices. “We positively transform people’s lives by providing quality financial services and tailoring solutions to the real needs of our customers,” she said.

The Bank’s 2025 results come at a time when Kenya’s economic growth has slowed, with the national GDP growth rate dropping from 7.6% in 2021 to 4.8% in 2025. Additionally, currency pressures have persisted, with the Kenya shilling trading at KES 160.8 to the US dollar in January 2024, a depreciation that has affected businesses and households alike.

Despite these headwinds, Family Bank has leaned on its strong customer-focused strategy, leveraging digital innovation and flexible financing models to sustain growth. The Bank reported growth in key segments including retail lending, SME financing, and mobile banking solutions, reflecting its ability to adapt to shifting customer demands.

Analysts say the Bank’s resilience reflects broader trends in Kenya’s financial sector, where institutions that emphasize customer trust, innovation, and affordability are best positioned to withstand economic shocks.

Looking ahead, Njau reaffirmed the Bank’s long-term commitment: “Courtesy of putting our customers first, we will continue to empower individuals and businesses to build sustainable wealth. Family Bank is more than just a financial institution, it is a partner in progress for every Kenyan."
